A CONFIDENT GIRL
Oh my god. Who is she?
Olga Koch does stand-up comedy onstage and creates cathartic performance art in the privacy of her own home. She has trained at the UCB Theatre in New York, as well as the Soho Theatre and the Free Association in London.
In 2018, she was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards for her debut hour, Fight. Fight was directed by Charlie Dinkin, produced by Berk's Nest and originally performed at Pleasance at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
In 2019, Olga performed her second solo Edinburgh Fringe show, If/Then, at Monkey Barrel. If/Then was also directed by Charlie Dinkin and also produced by Berk's Nest. In 2020, it was nominated for Best Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival.
Olga has appeared on QI, Mock The Week, The Now Show, Pls Like, The Blame Game, King Gary & your little brother's dreams.
If/Then on Vinyl
The Monkey Barrel Comedy Club in Edinburgh has launched Monkey Barrel Records, the new home of exclusive comedy vinyl records!
You can get Olga's 2019 show, recorded live at Monkey Barrel, on hot pink vinyl through this link (along with amazing hours from Ari Eldjárn and John Kearns).
Fresh from a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe 2019, a national tour, and a Best Show nomination at Leicester Comedy Festival in 2020, If/Then sees Olga hilariously telling a love story through the unorthodox medium of computer science. In this feminist investigation into what happens when we can’t separate emotion and technology, Olga will teach you how to code, and explore what happens when our expectations for romance, happiness and Michael Bublé no longer compute. Like pioneering computer scientists Grace Hopper and Dorothy Vaughan before her, Olga examines how being an exception might not be so exceptional after all. If/Then is directed by Charlie Dinkin and produced by Berk's Nest.
